The Program
HSC has partnered with Starting Arts to run our theater program, providing an end-to-end production experience. Learn more about their program here: https://www.
Auditions will take place in the first two rehearsals. Starting Arts will work with students to discuss goals, role size interests, speaking/singing parts, prior experience, and goals. They will give the students an opportunity to showcase their talents and then will place students in roles. There are roles that appeal to everyone!
Important Dates
- Rehearsals: September 1 – October 31 (3:00 PM – 4:30 PM, every Tuesday and Thursday)
- Tech Rehearsals: November 2, 3, and 4 (3:00 PM – 7:00 PM daily)
- Performances: November 5 and 6 (5:00 PM and 8:00 PM daily)

Upon registration, please check your email for your group placement and further instructions:
- Group A (Spots 1–60): You will have until end of day to confirm enrollment. If incomplete, your spot will be forfeited, offered to the next student, and you will need to re-register.
- Group B (Waitlist spots 61+): You will be notified via email if a spot opens up.
To confirm enrollment, you will need to use the links provided in your follow-up email to complete the following:
1. Submit Enrollment Fee: An online payment of $280 per student is required. This covers the Starting Arts program, a digital copy of the final production, and light dinners during tech rehearsals.
- To pay the play fee, you must be logged into your Membership Toolkit account.
- You will be redirected here to sign in or create an account if you try to access the Enrollment Fee link without being logged in.
2. Sign Up for a Volunteer Shift: Each registration requires fulfilling one parent volunteer shift.3. Complete Enrollment Forms: Fill out all sections, including the necessary statements and waivers.

2024-2025 Play
Steindorf 2024-2025 Play Registration Closed!
It’s that time! This year our annual School play will be on February 13 and 14…quite a bit earlier than last year to accommodate more student participation. The Home and School Club is proud to partner with Starting Arts again and bring you Matilda Jr. Registration information can be found here: Steindorf Matilda Forms .
The play is open to students in grades 4-8. There are only 60 slots, so be sure to sign-up quickly.
Key Dates:
- Rehearsals will start November 5th and will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00pm - 4:30pm (no rehearsals when school is not in session)
- Dress/Tech Rehearsals are 2/10, 2/11 & 2/12 (exact time TBD but typically from release time till about 7:30-8pm) - attendance at these rehearsals is mandatory
- Performances are Thursday February 13 and Friday February 14 (exact times TBD)
This is an all-cast production, meaning that all students enrolled in the program will be cast. The first couple of rehearsals will serve as “auditions” to allow the kids to interact with and sing for the director (if they’d like - it is not required). The purpose is to allow the director to see how comfortable a child is speaking and singing on stage. These “auditions” are not meant to cause stress - they are casual and intended to ensure that students can be cast in roles that best suit their comfort and skill level.
Please remember that signing your child up for the play is a commitment - your child is expected to be at all rehearsals for the duration of the rehearsals (unless they are sick). In fact, Starting Arts allows your child to miss no more than 3 rehearsals before they risk being re-cast or removed from the play.
